And made for themselves and their children a new life from the old,

To carry their heritage forward so the bare tale might be told.

So that in nineteen hundred and seventy nine upon a summer's day,

We come to Nova Scotia, their courage to repay.

For you are their children's children, survivors of that clan.

You are that tradition part of their destined plan.

In you the heart's still Highland, in you the blood is strong,

In you the pride's still fervent to hold the memory long.

Now that you have gathered, reach out a welcoming hand

To each brother Scot beside you and think on that pioneer band

Who came on the good ship Hector, were they but here today

They would be the first to greet you, they would be first to say,

"A hundred thousand welcomes".

For we are all Celtic Brothers from the land of our fathers derived,

Father to son, and his son, each generation survived,

To proudly proclaim our birthright that brings us here by command,

Part of a loving family rooted in kinship's band.

Under that Father in Heaven to whom only we bow the knee,

Proud sons of our Mother Scotland, then let us brothers be.

I have added a bit more to the Scottish History pages. Not as much as I would have liked, but I ran into some difficulty in tracking down a copy of the 3rd volume of "The Orygynale Cronykil of Scotland". I think that anyone interested in the earliest recorded writings of the history of Scotland will want to read the prefaces  etc. of these three volumes, as much as reading the text of the Cronykil.

Similar to yesterday, today I have added a bit more to the Scottish History pages.

Tomorrow and through to Monday afternoon I'll be helping at a local garage sale, so there will be no postings on this blog before Tuesday of next week.

I haven't been at all energetic at posting here for a bit longer than I had anticipated, but thanks to an encouraging email this morning from Bruce in Australia who told me he enjoyed reading my blog and the Scottish History section, I've added another part to that section tonight. Enjoy.
